I walked into the J. Cottier Gallery this ski season and was amazed by the talent of Jim Cottier. His jewelry designs are a work of art. I bought a flattering and unique pair of earrings called “First Tracks” which were very reasonably priced in silver. They were designed unpolished, but I wanted to match a necklace I had that was polished, so for no extra charge he changed the sheen for me. Honestly, Jim and his staff went above and beyond to provide excellent service, and I highly recommend you visit their store when visiting Vail.

Best jeweler in Vail hands down. J. Cotter’s pieces are all one of a kind featuring creative, exciting materials that are beautifully designed. The entire team in the gallery and studio are experts and extremely helpful. If you’re looking for the best, stop. You’ve found them.

If J Cotter cant fix it, nobody can!
My mother’s eternity wedding band (circa 1944) was beautiful in its simplicity. But the platinum band was split in a couple of places though I saved the diamond chips that fell out. Other jewelers offered to remake the ring, but J Cotter repaired the original ring. I almost cried with joy when I saw it. It was perfect again!

Cotter makes the most thoughtful, unique jewelry I've ever laid eyes on. Everyone I have encountered at the gallery have been extremely kind, knowledgeable and attentive. If you are looking for one of a kind jewelry that stands out, I highly suggest paying them a visit next time you're in Vail!

The most unique jewelry in Vail! The highest quality handmade contemporary jewelry- and it shows! They have several different artists with different styles, but Jim Cotter, a local artists makes the majority of their merchandise. A "must visit" shop when in Vail!

I love this gallery! All of the pieces are so beautiful and unique. It's a great mix of jewelry and sculpture. I actually got my wedding set here, they helped my husband make a custom piece. If you're looking for a mountain souvenir that you can keep forever, this is your place. I can't wait to come back and get more jewelry!

Worst expirience at the jewelry shop ever! I dropped off my ring for repair and about a week later they called me saying it's ready for pick up. When I stopped by they couldn't find the ring! Their question was if possibly I was supposed to pick it up at the different location. No! I want to be able to pick up my ring where I dropped it off! Few hours later they called me saying it's in Avon but they will ship it next day to vail. 3 days later I go to pick it up and a girl behind the desk doesn't have any idea about the ring and where to look for it! So she had to make the calls trying to locate it. After all that hassle they wouldn't apologize or knock the price off. One of the Vail businesses that I would tell any local to avoid!

Great service. I brought in my wedding band to be sized and they had it done the next day. I feel that the price was very fair and the turnaround time was amazing. I will defiantly be going back anytime I need something in the future!
