Totally got conned. Went in and wanted 18k or 24k gold little hoop earrings for my daughter. Was showed rose gold earrings and asked if it was 18 or 24. Was told it was 24. After inspecting the earrings when we got home, we live out of state, they’re 14k. Paid a lot for 14k earrings. My daughter has sensitive ears. She cannot wear them. Feeling betrayed and lied to all to make a quick sale. Bought my some a pendant also and it turns out to be 14k also. He lied about that too.

I literally went in the next day and bought another great piece. The store is worth every cent!!!. I am speechless over my chain and pendant. The price was fabulously reasonable for 24k solid gold!

This shop is in Chinatown and the location itself is not bad. They are an authorized dealer for a brand of watch I was looking for and I was in the area so I decided I might as well stop in and see if they had the model I was looking for.

Ken helped me out and he's a really nice guy. I wasn't planning on buying a watch but I really liked the watch and I enjoyed talking to Ken who is a guy that actually likes what he sells. We kept chit chatting about watches as he was processing my credit card and he had me sign a few forms. Like a fool I failed to do two things, read what I was signing and to ask about their return policy.

I thought I was simply signing a receipt for the price of the watch so he can process payment through my credit card but I while I did do that, I also signed a form agreeing to their return policy. Ken never once presented the form as a return policy and shame on me for not asking or reading the half page of legal fine print.

This all would have been a moot point if not for the fact that I walked out of the store with a defective watch. The brand new watch I bought had a date wheel that becomes crooked as the month progresses and isn't obvious till later in the month which means that unless all 31 days of the month were scrolled through, you wouldn't actually know till you left the shop as I did.

Now the watch does have the manufacturers warranty but who wants to send out a 3 week old watch to be repaired? I went back to the store and I asked for an exchange but they wouldn't have it. First Ken tried to convince me that the watch was within specifications so the repair center would "probably" just send it back. He thought I should hold on to the watch a year and see if the problem "fixed" itself. I told him I wasn't going to wait a year to fix an obvious defect and then he said they would help me with the first repair under warranty but after that I was on my own.

I was quoted 3-6 weeks to have the watch repaired but it came back in under 3 weeks and they fixed the problem but created another. The dial of the watch came back dirty and seeing as how Ken said they would only help the first time, I'm on my own. I've contacted the repair center and they have apologized and said they will take care of it. Now I have to send the watch off a few more weeks to be cleaned and I have to cross my fingers it doesn't come back with a new problem.

If I had bought a watch and it developed a problem over time, sending off for warranty service would have been fair. But it's a watch that was defective from the moment I walked out the store, the problem was simply hidden away and now I have to deal with having what is essentially a brand new watch repaired twice.

They have a store policy that is incredibly unfriendly to their customers and because of that I will not be purchasing anything from them in the future. Here is some excerpts from their store policy fine print that takes up half of the sales receipt,

"All sales final. No refund."

"D'Ajelin will not guarantee any repair work. "D'Ajelin will exercise caution, however, should unintentional and unforeseen circumstances occur, D'Ajelin is not liable. It is agreed that all services and repairs or are done at customer's own risk. *There is no compensation for damaged goods."

Take your business to a place that will take more responsibility for what they sell you.
